, this time in angeles national forest east and north of los angeles where a fire broke out sunday and it's now burned more than 4,000 acres. called the williams fire, firefighters say it began near a campfire sunday. the area typically attracts about 12,000 visitors over the holiday weekend for rehabilitation, camping as well as other types of resorts. the forest is heavily used by southern california residents and if is extremely dry this time -- it is extremely dry this time of year. while no homes or major campgrounds are threatened, firefighters have evacuated much of the area to have access roads available. about 300 firefighters are on the lines and a number of planes and air tankers dropping fire retardant and water on this fire which is burning in very difficult conditions, very steep terrain and extremely dry brush. this latest fire comes as it's been a difficult fire season already across the west. there have been major wildfires that burned in colorado, montana, oregon, idaho, washington and california and it's not really the a man part of fire season -- main part of fire seas
